My 1st good shot using the long exposure training I got back in June. This shot was taken at Historic Walnford Park back in July of 2013. The sun was actually going down to my right so I had enough time to get the long exposure of about 60 seconds and thus get the golden glow from the sun on the water as well as the blueness of the sky from above shining down on the water just to right of the falls. I’ve taken other pictures since July but I keep coming back to this one for some reason.
I just recently ordered this shot on metal using ClickPhotos.com since I had a coupon for a free 8X10 metal print. When I purchased my eye-fi a couple weeks ago, I was able to get the discount so hey, why not? Its a $70 value and all I had to pay was the shipping and handling costs. Should see the print in a few weeks and can’t wait to see how it came out. Now to figure out where to mount the photo.
It wasn’t easy getting to this shot and if you go back a ways down on my blog and read up on my long exposure course you can see what I went through trying to get the proper exposure. I still owe you a review on the photopills app for iOS but to determine proper exposure for this shot I actually used Longtime which is another app for iOS and its free so go out and get it and try it out. Its simple and easy and only does one thing, and thats tell you how long to keep your shutter open based upon how many stops you want to expose for and what your camera says the shutter is for the original shot.
