I am an avid amateur photographer looking to better my skills that I plan to take into retirement as my full time hobby, or perhaps my retired full time job making money. One never knows.
I live in NJ, work for the state, marrie,d and just living life as it comes. Kids are grown up so the misses and I try to spend our time together as much as we can.
Started out doing film in high school doing black and white and also doing my own developing. Never really got the hang of that and just kinda let the commercial places take care of processing for me.
While in the Air Force, I owned a Minolta SR-T 201 and was really enjoying film and just taking shots of every place I went, from Florida to Germany and then to NY state.
Once I got out of the Air Force, I really didn’t take much time to continue shooting and wish I never had stopped. But eventually I got a Minolta Maxxum 7000i and started back up again around 1990.
It wasn’t until 1997 or so that I started to get into digital imaging. I picked up a Kodak DC260 which was a whopping 1 megapixel! Took pretty darn good pictures too! I then upgraded to a Kodak DC4800 and a Sony DSC707. I knew I needed something more powerful and in 2005 I got my 1st DSLR, the Canon 20D
Today I have upgraded from crop sensor to full frame with a Canon 5D Mark III. I have 2 lenses that I use alot (Sigma 24-70 f2.8 and Sigma 70-200 f2.8) but there is always room for more and perhaps a macro is in order down the road.
I am open to taking any kind of shot that has merit. I will shoot wildlike, nature, weddings, sports, food, you name it. Now that I have 2 photowalks under my belt, I plan to do many more of them, not just for the shots, but for the exercise and to meet others who enjoy the hobby as much as I do.
